Day 1: Islamabad

Your Pakistani adventure begins in the nation's capital, Islamabad. Upon arrival, you'll settle into your hotel and have time to rest and recover from your journey.
In the evening, we’ll gather for a warm welcome dinner, where you’ll meet your fellow travelers and discuss the exciting itinerary ahead.
We’ll also explore the highlights of Islamabad, including:

Day 2: Skardu - Shigar

We begin the day with a morning flight from Islamabad to Skardu (7–8 AM). On clear days, the view from the plane is nothing short of breathtaking, showcasing the towering peaks of K2, Broad Peak, Nanga Parbat, and the majestic ranges of the Himalayas and Karakoram.
Today’s destination is the enchanting Shigar Valley, a land of timeless beauty and rich history. Highlights include:
  • Ancient Nurbakhshia Mosques: Unique Tibetan-style mosques that reflect the spiritual and architectural heritage of the region.
  • Shigar Fort: Built in the 17th century as the residence of the rulers of Baltistan, this meticulously restored fort offers a glimpse into the grandeur of the past.

Day 3: Skardu to Hunza

Today, we embark on an unforgettable journey along the legendary Karakoram Highway, a mountain road that connects Pakistan with China and is celebrated as one of the most scenic highways in the world.

Here, we’ll enjoy a cup of hot tea paired with traditional flatbreads while soaking in the awe-inspiring views of two towering 7,000-meter peaks.
Highlights of the Day:
  • Lunch in a Cherry Orchard: Our midday break takes us to a charming guesthouse nestled in a cherry orchard, owned by a descendant of the royal family of the Nagar principality. We’ll meet the gracious hosts and savor gorkun, a traditional dish cooked in stone pots following centuries-old recipes.
  • Baltit and Altit Forts: Back in Karimabad, we’ll explore these historic forts:
  • Baltit Fort (700 years old): A stunning example of Tibetan-inspired architecture, offering a glimpse into the lives of Hunza’s rulers.
  • Altit Fort (1,300 years old): Pakistan’s oldest fort, where ancient royal quarters and stunning views transport you back in time.

Day 5: Upper Hunza – Attabad to Passu

Our journey today takes us further north into the breathtaking region of Upper Hunza, known as Gojal, and the stunning Attabad Lake.

  • Attabad Lake: Formed in 2010 when a massive landslide blocked the Karakoram Highway and the river, this turquoise lake has become a jewel of the region. We’ll take a relaxing boat ride along its rugged, rocky shores, marveling at the lake’s serene beauty.
  • Scenic Karakoram Highway: Continuing toward the Chinese border, we traverse one of the most picturesque sections of the highway, stopping at multiple viewpoints to capture blooming apricot orchards and the majestic mountain scenery.
  • Passu Cones: Iconic sharp peaks that rise dramatically against the sky, these unique rock formations are a symbol of the Hunza Valley.

Day 6: Khunjerab National Park – Moorkhun – Passu Glacier

Start the day with an early excursion to Khunjerab National Park, guided by a renowned conservation expert and one of Pakistan's top snow leopard trackers. Spring offers an ideal opportunity to observe the region’s extraordinary wildlife.

Afternoon in Moorkhun Village

Day 7: Return to Skardu via Naltar Valley

After an early breakfast, we bid farewell to Upper Hunza and begin our journey back to Skardu.
Detour to Naltar Valley (Weather Permitting)
If conditions allow, we’ll take a scenic detour to the enchanting Naltar Valley, known for its pristine blue lakes and lush forests.
  • Blue Lakes of Naltar: These stunning alpine lakes, shimmering in shades of turquoise and sapphire, are a feast for the eyes and a photographer’s dream.

Day 8: Islamabad – Khewra Salt Mines – Katas Raj – Lahore

We begin the day with an early flight from Skardu to Islamabad, from where we set out on a road journey to Lahore, stopping at two remarkable sites along the way.
Stop 1: Khewra Salt Mines
Discover the fascinating Khewra Salt Mines, among the oldest in the world.
  • Legendary Origins: According to legend, these mines were discovered over 2,000 years ago by the horses of Alexander the Great’s army, who were seen licking the salt-encrusted rocks.
