Lahore - Islamabad - Peshawar - Gilgit - Skardu - Hunza - Fairy Meadows

Conservative Peshawar, wonderful Lahore, breathtaking roads, mountain valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan, cold deserts, ancient mosques and forts, majestic Nanga Parbat.

Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism.
Pashtuns, Punjabis, Burishis and Wakhans.
We will see the life and traditions of the peoples of Pakistan, visit holy places of three world religions and the intersection of three greatest mountain systems.

We will drive along the Karakoram Highway, surrounded by the highest mountains on the planet, and stop at the most beautiful viewpoints of Rakaposhi (7788m). We will see the legendary killer mountain Nanga Parbat close.

Taste mountain tea and brew coffee while watching the sunset on the snow-white dunes of the high-mountain desert.

Visit local families.
We will try to make bread by ourselves on a traditional stove and learn recipes our favourite local dishes.

Let's feel the atmosphere of the streets of old Lahore, visit UNESCO monuments: Lahore Fort and the monumental Badshahi Mosque (1674). Let's see how street healers work, how famous Pakistani trucks are decorated, and try our best supporting Pakistan side at the famous show of closing the border between Pakistan and India.

Day 1. Lahore
Meet all the group in Lahore. Explore the walled city, mosques, markets, UNESCO monuments: Lahore Fort and the monumental "royal mosque" Badshahi (1674). In the evening we visit the famous show of closing the border between Pakistan and India. We will have dinner with a wonderful view of the Badshahi Mosque. Night in Lahore.
Hotel Luxus Lahore 4* or similar.
Day 2. Lahore - Khewra mines - Islamabad
Before breakfast we visit the most authentic part of the city, vegetable market. Take part in dynamic and fun watermelon auctions trying to find the best red fruit. After breakfast we start moving toward Islamabad (6 hours). Along the way, visit the biggest Hindu temple complex in Pakistan - Katas Raj and famous Khewra salt mines, according to legend, discovered by the horses of the troops of Alexander the Great.
Night in Islamabad. Hotel Regalia Islamabad or similar.
Day 3. Islamabad - Peshawar
Breakfast. Morning walk around Islamabad. Visit to Faisal Mosque. Transfer to Peshawar (3 hours).
We discover the old city, visit the famous markets: Qissa Khwani, Meena Bazaar, truck decoration workshops and the weapons market. Visit the old houses where local residents still live. In the evening we will taste Kabuli pulao and meat dishes for which Peshawar is so famous. Night in Peshawar. Hotel Roomy Peshawar or similar
Day 4. Peshawar - Takht-i-Bahi
In the morning we continue to explore Peshawar and and return to Islamabad. On the way we will stop at the ancient Buddhist monastery complex Takht-i-Bahi.
Night in Islamabad. Hotel Grand Islamabad.
Day 5. Skardu - Shigar - Cold desert
Morning flight to Skradu by Pakistani Airlines.
A trip to the Shigar Valley, famous not only for its breathtaking views, but also for its ancient mosques. On the way back we will take a ride to the sand dunes of the cold desert of Safaraga. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Skardu (altitude 2100m).

!IMPORTANT: In case of Skardu flight cancellation, we will travel to north by land. With an overnight stay in the city of Besham/Chilas
Day 6. Skardu
After breakfast picturesque walk along the beautiful route to Organic village. In the afternoon we return to Skardu visit Sadpara lake and ancient Buddha rock carving.
Take our sunset tea on the wall of ruined fort above the city.

!IMPORTANT: If the flight is canceled on this day, we will arrive in Skardu. We will visit the cold desert and the fort. Night in Skardu
Day 7. Skardu. Basho valley - Kachura lakes
Reserve day in Skardu Valley in case of flight cancellation. After breakfast we leave for the Basho Valley. After steep mountain road we reach green meadows with crystal springs surrounded by snowcapped mountains, where we will have a picnic in a pine forest. In the afternoon we visit lakes Upper and Lower Kachura.

Day 8. Skardu - Hunza
Following the picturesque mountain road along the Indus River we move to the center of the Hunza Valley, stopping at the Rakaposhi viewpoints (7788m), near collision line of the continental plates and the old Silk Road. Night in Aliabad.
Day 9. Discover Karimabad
Explore cultural capital of Hunza today. We listen to the history of the famous forts in Karimabad, Baltit (700 years old) and Altit (1300 years old), walk through ancient settlements that are about a thousand years old, and buy souvenirs. In the evening we go to the Eagle's nest viewpoint to see the panorama of the Karakoram Mountain Range, the peaks of the seven-thousanders Rakaposhi, Spantik, Diran.

Day 10. Attabad lake - Gojal
We move to the Attabad lake. In 2010, a rock collapsed near the Karakoram Highway. As a result of the landslide, this beautiful mountain lake with turquoise water and rocky shores was formed. Spring time the lake has beautiful Tiffany color.
After the boat ride, we go further to the salty mountain lake and the white Passu glacier: we will stop at numerous viewpoints, see the Iconic views of upper Hunza, the Passu Cones rocks, and walk along suspension bridges. At the evening we reach quiet village of Morkhun, where we meet a Wakhan family and have dinner in a traditional Wakhan house. Return to Passu for the night.
Day 11-12. Fairy Meadows
Early in the morning we leave Passu and drive to the Raikot Bridge, where our adventurous journey to Fairy Meadows and Nanga Parbat begin. We drive off-road along one of the most famous mountain roads of Karakoram. The last 7 km we hike up to Fairy Meadows (porters will carry our things, you can take a horse), the reward are the amazing views of Nanga Parbat and the Raikot glacier.
In the evening we take a photo with the famous reflection of the eight-thousander in the lake. The next day we relax, walk in the forest and enjoy the views. The most active ones have chance to reach the Nanga Parbat base camp.

Day 13. Fairy Meadows - Besham
Today we descend from Fairy Meadows and begin our journey home.
Transfer Fairy Meadows - Raikot - Besham. Overnight at the hotel
Day 14. Besham - Islamabad
Return to Islamabad. Evening/night flight home.
Day 15. Islamabad
Morning flight home.
